How old are the characters from The Vampire Diaries?
I dont know about all of you out there but i love knowing how old actors are!
So i did some research on the cast of The Vampire Diaries and found some shocking ages!
Nina Dobrev/Elena Gilbert- Born January 9th 1989 which makes her almost 21 years old! WOW!
Paul Wesley/Stefan Salvatore- Born July 23rd 1982 27 years old?!?!
Ian Somerhalder/Damon Salvatore- Born December 8th 1978 31!
Katerina Graham/Bonnie Bennett- Born September 5th 1989 21 years old!
Candice Accola/Caroline Forbes- Born May 13th 1987 23 years old!
Steven R. Mcqueen/ Jeremy Gilbert- Born July 13th 1988 22 years old!
Zach Roerig/Matt Donovan- Born Feburary 22nd 1985 25 years old!
Kayla Ewell/Vicki Donovan- Born August 27th 1985 25 years old!
I think that those ages are crazy! I mean they have people over 20 yeards old playing high school students??
Comment on how much of a shock these ages were to you!

WOW, cant believe it myself
The ages of the actors don’t surprise me at all actually. They look to be their real age, even if they’re starring in a series as a bunch of teenagers. I never watched an episode of vampire diaries thinking the actors were really in their teens.. they look to be in their 20s.
omg stephan is older than elina that is just really weird. i mean damon is the eldest than all the characters. 31 is way to old. omg vampire diaries is the best show ever

Damon isn’t playing a high school student, so you can’t really say that his age is shocking, cuz’ do we really know what age he’s supposed to play?
i kinda wish when there are movies or tv series about teenagers they actually cast teenagers, yeah maybe like a yr older then the actuall age of the person, but come on, i reckon it would be better
If they actually cast teenagers to play teenagers, do you really think that the acting would be all that good? I mean these actors that play these characters have the experience that younger ones wouldnt have!
I think in the flashback episode they said he was either 1 or 2 yrs older than Stefan.

I remember seeing Paul Wesley on this one show. And it looked really old, but he doesnt look like hes age much. It was about angels, nebody know that I’m talking about? I’d like to see the second part to it.
It was a movie called “fallen” he also starred on a few epsiode of the OC and other things to see a full list of what hes been in visit “imbd.com” and search paul wesley or any of the other cast members
it was shocking when they mentioned on the show that stefan is 17. made me chuckle cuase he looks his rela age! theyd have been better off setting the whole programme in a college then it would have ooked better.
at the end of the day people, the best shows out there use older people in shows like this with teen aged plot. Who wants to see an inexperienced rubbish 16 year old playing elena just cause she’d look 16? Ian somerhalder for example is fantastic BECAUSE of all his experience and talent. this show would be a wash out if they relied on casting true to age, rather than talent and some believability.
of all hte crappy american teen programmes out there, this is the best for sure!

im sorry to say, that you need to do math.. you over estemated the ages. if someone was born in march of 87 they are still 22..all your ages are off.
