Friday Night Bites Review

September 28th, 2009 by Monika

Obviously don’t read if you haven’t seen ‘Friday Night Bites’ yet. Plus, even though I have read the books, I’m going completely without the books influence. It’s easy to seperate them in my mind so don’t worry about any book spoilers.

Starts with an amazing scene with Damon and Caroline. It made me think, Vampire sleep? Is it weird that out of that whole scene, that’s the only thing that threw me off? But about the scene was shot amaizing well. I love how Caroline tries to sneak away. So eerie.

Moving on, I loved the little Student-vs-Teacher thing with Stefan. Obviously he’s good with dates because a) He’s a vampire and B) He LIVED those things. (Thank you captain obvious.)

I’m really liking Elena’s little brother, Jeremy. He has this sweet, lost puppy sort of thing going on. One thing that really turned me off about him was at the end when Stefan was breaking up the fight and holding Tyler down, he tried to take a cheep shot at Tyler. Ugg Boys. ;)

I’m wondering about Bonnie’s vision, because Stefan isn’t the one that kills. Maybe, she ‘felt’ death because he is technically dead? Just a theory. Or maybe it’s foreshadowing of a lapse in Stepfan’s weak control. Also, 8, 22, 14. She already saw 14 and 22. Where’s 8?
Oh, when Elena dreams she’s gettin it on with Stefan and he turns into Damon, do you think that was Damon’s influence or was she honestly thinking of him that much?

Stefan joins football team, breaks his finger but just snaps it back into place. (Note: Why can’t I do that?!) I don’t know about you guys, but I really don’t see the fairness of Stefan  joining the football team. Hello? Vampire. Isn’t that worse than steroids? But I digress.

May favorite part of all three episodes had to be the last 15-20 seconds. I was tearing up. The music and actions combination just… <3 Now does this make me weird? Damon KILLS someone about 10 minutes before the end of the episode, and yet, I fall in love with Damon at the end of the episode.

I think that Stefan was 100% right with what he said about Damon’s ‘humanity’ the first time. About how he’s just covering because he loved Kathrine so much. But, much like myself, he doesn’t want to get told this by a younger sibling. I know that if my sister ever told me something like that, I’d fly off the handle. Even if it was true. I doubt I’d kill someone, but I’m not a vampire.

I have to say, as of right now, I’m Elena & Stefan all the way. Just let me have Damon and it’s all cool. ;) I’m kidding. But seriously, I’m Elena & Stefan, but Damon needs to find his own human to love interest, not that bimbet Caroline. Maybe I just need a few more episode to turn to the dark, mysterious side.

What are your thoughts on the question I ask through my review, and thoughts in general about this episode?
